Shooting on Hornsby on 31st March 2012

There were 14 shooters competing in our club competition at Hornsby today over 600 metres on what was a beautiful warm autumn day. The mirage however was quite tricky at times but generally a good shooting day with some interesting results. Cathy and Al were said to have had more luck with the dreaded “line cutters” than some of the other competitors – or so I am lead to believe! Our junior shooter Mitchell Burke came back very strongly in his second stage to score a very credible 45.02.

Next week shooting will be at 500 metres which will be Easter Saturday. Good luck to all who shoot next week and an enjoyable Easter to all.

News from HRC from 24th March 2012

Last Saturday the 24th March was the Arn Hammond 700m match. We were able to field all 3 of our teams – thanks to those members who made themselves available. The scores for our teams were as follows:-

Hornsby No 1 Phil Milan 70.11, Cathy Burnitt 70.6, Alan Ashwoth 69.8, Jeff Burnitt 69.7, Geoff King 69.6, John-Ross Mitchell 68.12

Hornsby No 2 Doug Rawson-Harris 69.3, Jim Thompson 67.5, Peter Allman 67.3, David Rodgers 62.6, Tim Robinson 62.1, John Allman 55.0

Hornsby F Class Standard Andrew Beavis 83.4, Ron 80.6, Michael Moss 78.0, Gavin Mitchell 75.2.

Our F Class Standard topped the range for the day – great shooting from the whole team. Our No 1 Full Bore team was a very close second to Roseville RC No 1 team on the day being pipped by 1 centre. It was a great effort from our No 1 team given we had a few dramas to contend with. There was also some outstanding shooting from our No 2 team shooters.

We all enjoyed afternoon tea supplied by our members who excelled themselves again.
